Dr Ali Ghahary
Dr Ali G sits down with PureTalk to discuss how he was able to move from Iran at the age of 7 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, learn English, discover a love for science and eventually earn his doctorate of medicine. Dr G also discusses Thyroid disease. Its causes, symptoms and treatments.
Dr. Ali Ghahary is an experienced researcher and family physician from Vancouver, British Columbia.
Dr. Ghahary obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta in 2003, going on to complete his family medicine residency with McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He is currently licensed by the Medical Council of Canada
Dr. Ghahary’s previous roles as a physician include leading a family practice at Newport Medical Clinic in Port Moody, British Columbia, as well as holding associate privileges at North Vancouver’s Lions Gate Hospital and Chilliwack General Hospital where he treated a mostly geriatric population.
In 2011 Dr. Ali Ghahary joined the team at Brentwood Medical Clinic in Burnaby where he cares for a broad spectrum of walk-in patients from newborn infants to the elderly, suffering from across- the-board maladies including but not limited to influenza and mental health concerns.
In his spare time, Dr. Ghahary enjoys skiing at Whistler, bike riding, weight training and producing music.
